While I was on my way to a nearby shelter to pick up several kittens, I got a call from the coordinator about two little bottle babies that were at a local Veterinary Hospital. A local good samaritan had brought in two little kittens that were about three weeks old and they were very sick.
When I walked into the room of the Veterinary Hospital and I looked down into their cage Ellie immediately began to meow and jumped up on the bars. She would not stop crying and as she desperately held on and looked up at me with such sad eyes, I immediately knew we were taking her with us.
Ellie has been through several rounds of antibiotics during her early struggle to live and although her littermate did not make it, we worked with her every day to clean her, give her meds, and make sure her nose was clear. For a brief point in time, her eye was so infected that we were not sure what to expect, but we took her into the Vet multiple times a week until she was finally well.
We are so thankful that God gave us Ellie and that she survived such a tough beginning. The world is a better place with her in it and we know she will brighten up the lives of anyone that chooses her for their new family, just like she brightens ours.
